Brian Keenan

As the founder and President of READS, Brian is dedicated to community economic development and promoting school choice. Brian has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Work from Molloy College, a Certificate in Community Economic Development from Pratt Institute and a Masters of Business Administration from St. Peter’s College. Brian has 20 years in real estate development and financing, having worked for NJ Community Capital where he was instrumental in expanding the organization’s financial activities, including committing the organization’s first Charter School loan and first Social Enterprise equity investment and expanding the organization’s financial capital basis. Additionally Brian has developed more than 1,500 of affordable housing in the tri-state area. Brian serves on the Boards of New Jersey Community Capital, Learning Community Charter School, Federal Home Loan Bank of New York Advisory Board and the New Jersey Charter Schools Association. Brian’s work has been recognized by NJBiz’ with the 40 Under 40 for outstanding business leadership and the Fathers for Our Children Award by Marion P. Thomas Charter School.

Keith Timko

Keith Timko has been with READS since September 2008 and brings over ten years of experience in community development including: involvement in educational reform issues with The Center for Collaborative Education in New York City; experience in leadership development and management programs as the former President of the Leader to Leader Institute (formerly the Peter F. Drucker Foundation); and exposure to policy and community development approaches across the country during his time with Living Cities: The National Community Development Initiative. Keith has a Bachelor’s degree in History and Russian from Rutgers University and a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University.

Jeff Crum
Vice President of Real Estate Development

Joining READS in 2009, Jeff brings years of experience in the community development sector and a commitment to wealth creation and community revitalization for New Jersey’s low income communities. Prior to joining READS, Jeff worked at NJ Community Development Corp. in Paterson and NJ Community Capital in Trenton. Jeff earned a Bachelor's degree in social work from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he graduated magna cum laude in 2003. He also holds a master's in public policy from Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. He is currently a Fellow of Leadership New Jersey and serves on the Board of Reformed Church of High Park’s Affordable Housing Corporation.

Eric Felczak

Eric has been working with READS since fall 2008 as a project manager, and has been involved in all phases of project development. He works closely with the finance and acquisition team and transitions projects from design through construction. Eric holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Julie French

Julie French
Project Manager for Manufactured Home Communities

Julie has been with READS since 2009 and works out of the Delaware office. She leads the manufactured housing initiative in Delaware where she works with homeowners to help them organize homeowner associations to buy their communities when they go up for sale. Prior to joining READS, Julie assisted with resource development with NCALL Reseach, Inc. in Dover, DE and worked for the Delaware State Housing Authority. She holds a B.A. degree in Urban Affairs from Delaware State University.

Christina Oztan
Program Manager and Grants Administrator

Christina has been with READS since 2006 and oversees fund development, marketing and special initiatives. Christina also serves on the Board of Trustees of Greater Brunswick Charter School (GBCS), a recognized leader in the New Jersey charter school movement and has chaired the GBCS Facilities Committee. Ms. Oztan received her Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) in 1992 and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from University of Buffalo. She is a member of the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.

Mary Demirjian
Office Manager

Mary joined READS in November 2009 as the firm's office manager and benefits administrator. Mary brings more than 20 years of experience in supervising and overseeing the general operations of an office. She comes to READS from the Metuchen YMCA, and previously had worked for Whittle Communications in New York. Demirjian has a business and finance background from Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD and a certification from Katharine Gibbs School in New York.

Lauren has been with READS since August 2009 and has worked to establish the Young Community Development Professionals Association. She assists with projects, research, and program development. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Planning and Public Policy from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University in 2010.

Pankaj has been with READS since October 2009. His focus is on alternate and solar energy use for schools, new charter school market development and general charter school research. He is pursuing his Masters degree in City and Regional Planning at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. He currently lives in Philadelphia.

Evan Glanz
General Counsel

Evan is general counsel to READS on an outsourced basis by and through E Glanz Associates. E Glanz Associates provides consulting and legal services for real estate development and construction companies. Prior to founding E Glanz Associates, Evan was general counsel for J.G. Petrucci Co., Inc., a regional development and construction company active in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Prior to going in house, Evan worked for two large law firms Gibbons, PC, (formerly Gibbons, Del Deo, Dolan, Griffinger & Vechione) in Newark, New Jersey and Brach, Eichler in Roseland, New Jersey. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Diplomatic History from the University of Pennsylvania and Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law at Camden.

Michelle D’Alessio
Accounting Manager

Michelle joined READS in November 2009 as a consultant in the Finance Department. She brings over 10 years experience in the insurance and financial services industry where her main focus has been on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing expenses. Michelle holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Montclair State University and an Elementary Education Teaching Certificate from Kean University.

David Lichtenthal
CFO/Controller

David holds an accounting degree from N.Y.U. and is a certified public accountant. He has worked for several companies, including Havas North America (the US holding company of publicly-traded Havas SA of France), General Electric Company, and Continental Grain Company. For most of his professional career he has focused on corporate tax compliance and pension plan administration.

Kyan Hines
Intern

Kyan is interning with READS for the Summer of 2010 working marketing and business development initiatives. Kyan is currently a senior enrolled at Pikeville College. At Pikeville College, he is majoring in Business Marketing and will be graduating in the spring of 2011. After he graduates he plans to attend graduate school.

Steve Moschetti
Housing Scholar

Steve is interning with READS for the Summer of 2010 as a Wachovia/NJ Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Housing Scholar. Steve is a senior at Rutgers University in New Brunswick and plans on graduating in December with a degree in Planning/ Policy. His focus is in Urban Planning and Community Development. After graduation, Steve plans on attending graduate school.
